These furoshiki were designed by Yumeji Takehisa, a painter who symbolizes the romanticism of the Taisho Era (1912-1926).
They come as a convenient set of 2 small “shakumihaba” (50 cm) furoshiki that can be used as luncheon mats packed lunch wrappers.

Famous for his paintings of beautiful women, Yumeji Takehisa is known as a painter who symbolizes the romanticism of the Taisho Era. However, Yumeji also focused his efforts on the design of daily necessities, and was active as a pioneer of Japanese graphic design. Yumeji’s works are characterized by bold patterns and distinctive uses of colors.
